Many Americans want to vote for people who remind them of themselves, people they would feel comfortable around. I've never been able to relate to this because I want someone in the Oval Office who is much more competent than I am in every way I can imagine. But I've heard enough people talk about wanting to vote for the person they'd like to have a beer with that I take their word for it.
One of the easiest ways obscenely wealthy politicians can appeal to "the average person" is by publicly eating the types of food enjoyed by the average person.
But there really should be an exception for corn dogs. GOP candidates really shouldn't eat them in public.
