The midterm elections are about far more than big government vs. small government. They are about whether we want our elected officials to at least try to govern effectively or whether we think they should simply help corporate interests pillage the nation and let the rest of us fend for themselves. However, it is important to remember that those in the Republican Tea Party who keep calling for small government are being disingenuous by claiming that they really want to shrink government spending. Ask them how much they plan to cut defense spending, and you'll see that they are not at all serious about reducing the size of government.
