Crooks and Liars posted the names of the representatives who voted against re-opening the 9/11 Victims Compensation Fund for 9/11 responders whose health was affected by their work at Ground Zero. That's right, many of our elected representatives actually voted against helping 9/11 responders. Believe it or not, the measure was defeated in the House.
The Republican party has no problem whatsoever with defending corporate interests such as those of BP. But they choose to draw the line when it comes to the brave men and women who risked their own lives to rescue the victims of 9/11. This is truly despicable, and I hope the American people realize this going into the midterm elections.
Republicans, for all their breast-pounding and glory-singing about patriotism, wouldn't know a patriot if it came up and bashed them between the eyes. Instead of standing for those people who gave no thought to their own safety but rushed forward to search for and rescue possible survivors of the attack, they defeated the measure.I recommend scanning the list to see if anyone from your state is on it. I found one here in Mississippi, Republican Gregg Harper (MS-3). How embarrassing that Rep. Harper doesn't believe that 9/11 responders deserve better.
