President Obama has refused to hold Bush administration officials accountable for war crimes, preferring "to look forward instead of backward" (i.e., pander to Republicans), but that is not stopping a torture investigation in the UK from moving forward. According to The Guardian, Judge William Hague will investigate the role of British intelligence agencies in torturing suspected terrorists. It is nice to see that justice is still valued in some parts of the world.
Too harsh? Remember, former Vice President Dick Cheney publicly admitted to war crimes and yet inexplicably remains a free man because our president and Democratic members of Congress refuse to hold him accountable.
