"I Was a Big Supporter of Waterboarding."

cheney.jpgThis past weekend, former Vice President Dick Cheney was interviewed on ABC. During the interview, Cheney said, "I was a big supporter of waterboarding." Why isn't this guy in prison yet? Vice President Biden already pointed out that Cheney has a right to his own opinion but not to his own facts. But does he have a right to his own set of laws?

Jonathan Turley wrote a great post on this yesterday, noting,

It is an astonishing public admission since waterboarding is not just illegal but a war crime. It is akin to the Vice President saying that he supported bank robbery or murder-for-hire as a public policy.
So if he's right and waterboarding really is torture, why won't Attorney General Holder enforce the law and prosecute Cheney? According to Turley, Holder has had his hands tied by President Obama. As far as I'm concerned, this makes our president complicit in war crimes. Maybe the Republican voters who think he should be impeached really do have a point.
