I'm growing tired of all the television commercials from the oil and coal industries extolling the virtues of drilling or mining and opposing environmental regulation. I understand that they see themselves as protecting their business interests rather than plundering our natural resources. This strikes me as incredibly short-sighted, but I get it. However, if we really want to help these industries remain strong, shouldn't we start helping them figure out what they are going to do once they've tapped out the fossil fuels?
